Sonia Caus Gleason

Sonia Caus Gleason joined the Foundation in 2015.


Sonia brings over 25 years of experience in consulting and program management focused on equity, achievement and innovation to the Foundation. Having worked extensively with schools, districts, and complex partnerships within and beyond the region, she has a deep understanding of New England’s educational landscape, and particularly the issues that impact undeserved communities.


Previously, Sonia served as the Founding Developer of Success at the Core at the Education Development Center, where she created an award-winning, online, professional learning initiative to improve school leadership and instruction. She researched high poverty systems and state turnaround approaches for the Regional Educational Laboratory for the Northeast and Islands, and worked as a Senior Consultant at Learning Innovations at WestEd on issues of leadership, collaboration, and effective use of data. She has provided coaching to schools and districts, and guidance to cadres of coaches and facilitators in building capacity and navigating the change process.


Sonia has written extensively on education reform and, with Nancy Gerzon, published Growing into Equity: Professional Learning and Personalization in High Achieving Schools.


Sonia holds a B.A. in International Relations and Italian Studies from Connecticut College and an Ed.M. in Administration, Planning and Social Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
