Ed Cervone is Executive Director of Educate Maine, a business-led education advocacy group with a mission to prepare Maine residents for postsecondary learning and career pathways. Educate Maine runs several programs that serve both learners and educators and also conducts a wide range of research focused on access, participation and equity at all levels of the education system.
For more than a decade, Ed has worked on issues of education and economic development in Maine’s nonprofit sector and served in a variety of roles at the Maine Development Foundation, the Maine Center for Economic Policy and other organizations.
He is also one of the leaders of MaineSpark, a statewide campaign to build a skilled Maine workforce. The coalition includes more than 55 education, business and advocacy groups working toward a postsecondary attainment goal of 60% by 2025. Ed has a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a master’s degree from the University of Maine.
