Ed Cervone is the Executive Director of the Center for Innovation in Education and Vice President of External Partnerships at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine.
Previously, Ed served as Executive Director of Educate Maine, a business-led education advocacy group with a mission to prepare Maine residents for postsecondary learning and career pathways. Educate Maine runs several programs that serve both learners and educators and also conducts a wide range of research focused on access, participation and equity at all levels of the education system.
For more than a decade, Ed has worked on issues of education and economic development in Maine’s nonprofit sector and served in a variety of roles at the Maine Development Foundation, the Maine Center for Economic Policy and other organizations.
He was also one of the leaders of MaineSpark, a statewide campaign to build a skilled Maine workforce. The coalition includes more than 55 education, business and advocacy groups working toward a postsecondary attainment goal of 60% by 2025. Ed has a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a master’s degree from the University of Maine.
